It’s 3 pm. You just finished breastfeeding. You're ravenous. You want to eat something that’s quick, but more importantly, something that’s going to make you feel good.
Majka Lactation Booster Hummus is the perfect savory snack that’s quick to make and incredibly versatile. It’s also nutritious, especially for breastfeeding mamas. Hummus naturally contains galactogogues that can help increase milk supply. But, here at Majka, we like optimizing the foods you’re eating to make them more nutrient dense. Think of it as more “bang for your buck.” That’s why we’ve included our Majka Lactation Booster in this hummus recipe. It’s a great way to get in extra antioxidants and lactation-producing galactagogues.
Why is Majka Lactation Booster Hummus good for breastfeeding?
There are a few ingredients that make this Majka Lactation Booster Hummus amazing for new and breastfeeding mamas! However, we’re happy to report that anyone can enjoy this tasty dip!
–Chickpeas: Chickpeas, also known as garbanzo beans, date back to the ancient Egyptian times as a food to increase milk supply. This is thought to be from their phytoestrogens. Chickpeas are also a great source of plant-based protein and folate, iron, zinc and B vitamins.
–Tahini: Tahini is a paste or seed butter made from sesame seeds. Most traditional hummus recipes are made with tahini. This is good news for nursing mamas because sesame seeds can help increase milk supply. Sesame seeds are rich in minerals like calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and selenium, which are necessary nutrients for breastfeeding women. They also contain antioxidants that can help support the immune system and balance hormone levels.
–Majka Lactation Booster: Majka’s Lactation Booster is a versatile powder packed full of lactation-producing galactagogues like turmeric, Shatavari, caraway, flaxseed, and milk thistle. The Lactation Booster helps fight against inflammation (particularly in mastitis) and can help balance your hormones.
