Majka Chocolate Lactation Cups

Jan 09, 2019

Are you a breastfeeding mama who’s craving sweets? You’re not alone -- this is something many moms experience during the postpartum period!

After giving birth, your body needs extra TLC to recover. However, many of us mamas find ourselves working in overtime, as breastfeeding and caring for a newborn requires you to be available 24/7! While breastfeeding itself doesn’t necessarily cause sugar cravings, being sleep deprived and nutritionally depleted most certainly can.

In order to care for your body during this time, we recommend eating a wholesome, nourishing diet that incorporates nutrients needed for lactation. In the meantime, though, we’ve put together a recipe for a sweet treat that you can enjoy guilt free...Majka Chocolate Lactation Cups!

Read along to learn how to make these DIY treats and learn about the health benefits:

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Fill a saucepan with water and place it on the stove at low, letting it come to a boil. Above the pan, place a bowl with your chocolate chips and keep mixing with a wooden spoon or spatula until completely melted.
  2. In a silicone mold, add 1 tsp melted chocolate and spread to cover the base (in each cup). Place this in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  3. Mix almond butter, Majka Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder, coconut oil, and coconut flour together.
  4. Add 1 tsp of filling mixed above to each mold (above the chocolate), and add another layer of chocolate to cover the top.
  5. Refrigerate until hard, remove from molds, and serve! This recipe makes around 24 cups, depending on mold cup size.

The Benefits

Not only is this recipe delicious, but it’s also incredibly nourishing for new moms. Here are some of the benefits!

Good Fats

The almond and coconut oil in this recipe both provide good fats--which is an essential part of a breastfeeding diet! Incorporating good fats (unsaturated fats) into your diet fuels your body (and baby’s!) and also helps to keep you feeling full and nourished. Don’t let the myths out there fool you--fat isn’t something to be afraid of!

Protein

Protein is an important part of any diet, especially for breastfeeding moms.

The cells in our bodies need protein to perform many functions, including energy support, hormone production, maintaining muscle, supporting immune health, and more.

For all of these reasons, it’s recommended that we consume protein with every meal, which makes these the perfect treat to enjoy when you're craving something sweet! The almond butter and lactation powder in this recipe are both great sources of protein. Our Majka Nourishing Lactation Powder is designed to sustain your body and keep you fuller, longer, as it contains 13 grams of protein per serving.

Pre & Probiotics

Majka’s Nourishing Lactation Powder is easy to digest thanks to its prebiotic and probiotic blend. When developing our formula, this was a priority, as many protein powders on the market don’t take this into consideration. Our prebiotic and probiotic blend boosts mom and baby’s immune systems, eliminates toxins, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Lastly, this recipe is a great dessert for nursing moms who are looking for a boost of lactation support! Our Majka Nourishing Lactation Powder is rich in nutrients your body heavily relies on at this time. Fenugreek, organic ginger root, turmeric root extract, and other natural ingredients found in Majka’s scientifically formulated lactation blend can have positive effects on breast milk supply.
