The Benefits
What makes these popsicles different from ordinary frozen treats? Each recipe is full of health benefits, specifically for pregnant and nursing moms.
Protein
Protein is an essential part of any diet. It is needed by the cells in our bodies to provide energy, support hormone production, maintain muscle, boost immunity, and more. This is why our Majka Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder is a key player in this recipe! With 13 grams of protein per serving, it will sustain your body and keep you feeling fuller, longer. Our powder makes these popsicles the perfect healthy treat!
Healthy Fats
The almond butter and almond milk found in the blueberry and strawberry banana pops are amazing sources of healthy fats. While there is a lot of confusion around the different types of fats, it’s important to understand that healthy fats (unsaturated fats found in foods like avocados, nuts, ets.) are a major source of fuel for your body. We can’t live without ‘good’ fats, so don’t be afraid of them! In combination with the protein powder, they’ll also help keep you fuller, longer.
Fiber
Fruits are an amazing source of fiber, which supports healthy digestion and can help to stabilize blood sugar levels. There are two kinds of fiber: soluble and insoluble. Soluble fiber dissolves with water and creates a gel-like substance that can help lower blood cholesterol and glucose levels. Insoluble fiber absorbs water, which adds bulk to your digestive tract and helps things to move through quickly. Both types are essential to a healthy diet, and the good news is that fruit contains both soluble and insoluble fiber!
Energy, Vitamins & Antioxidants
In addition to containing fiber, fruits are also an amazing energy source! Fruit contains fructose, which takes longer to digest and enters your stream slower than simple sugars. This can help stabilize your blood sugar better than other sugar and starch sources. Fruit is also an amazing source of vitamin C and antioxidants, which can keep your energy levels up.
Lactation Support
Lastly, this recipe is amazing for pregnant and nursing moms because it includes our Majka Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder, which is rich in nutrients that your body heavily relies on at this time. Fenugreek, organic ginger root, turmeric root extract, and other natural ingredients found in Majka’s scientifically formulated lactation blend can have positive effects on breast milk supply.
