Our Most Requested Lactation Protein Powder Recipes

Sep 29, 2020

Did you know breastfeeding mamas need twice as much protein as non-pregnant, non-nursing women? This means that whenever you can sneak protein into a meal, it’s well worth it to do so! To provide a meal idea that’s delicious and very rich in protein (think 26g worth!), we created these 4 recipes that our community raves about!

Majka Chocolate Cherry Berry Smoothie

This smoothie features our Majka Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder too! We used the chocolate flavor in this recipe because it alone provides three different vegetarian protein sources.

We weren’t kidding when we said protein intake is a big deal! Our NLPP also provides essential daily vitamins and nutrients added specifically to help nourish your breastfeeding body by enriching your supply and making you feel like an energized powerhouse. I’m sure we can all agree that anything that energizes us is a must!

It’s smoothie time!

  • ½ cup frozen cherries
  • ½ cup frozen raspberries or mixed berries
  • ½ cup frozen cauliflower
  • 3 tablespoons rolled oats
  • 1 serving Chocolate Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 ½ cup unsweetened almond milk

Instructions:

  1. Place everything in the blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add more liquid as needed to reach your desired consistency.

Nutrition:

  • Total servings: 1
  • Per serving: 517 kcal, 22g fat, 54g carbs, 26g protein, 15g sugar, 25g fiber

Our Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder also contains ingredients chosen for the baby. Take choline, for example, an ingredient that supports infant brain development. That, combined with probiotics, allow this powder to help boost the immune system (for mom and baby!), eliminate toxins, fight inflammation, and so much more.

Majka Chai Spice Banana Bake Oatmeal

What’s even better is when that bowl of comfort oatmeal doubles as a nourishing all-in-one lactation supplement. That’s where we come in!

This Chai-Spiced Banana Baked Oatmeal recipe is perfect for mamas craving a nice warm comfort food that has sustenance and value. This recipe provides all key nutrients, combining a blend of almond milk, rolled oats, bananas, maple syrup, pecans, and dates for a delicious meal that’s filling and satisfying.

Plus, since it includes our Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder, this is oatmeal that’s working double time to nourish and enrich your milk supply, provide enzymes, antioxidants, and probiotics, and fill your nutritional gaps. It helps with inflammation and soreness while also providing energy. Long story short, NLPP Baked Oatmeal makes you feel good!

      Here’s how it's done.

      Ingredients:

      • 1 cup almond milk
      • 2 chai tea bags
      • 2 cups gluten-free rolled oats
      • 2 scoops Green Vanilla Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder
      • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseeds
      • 1 cup mashed banana (2 medium bananas)
      • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
      • ½ tsp sea salt
      • ½ cup chopped pecans
      • 4 Medjool dates, pitted and chopped

      Instructions:

      1. Preheat the oven to 375F. Lightly grease an 8x8 or 9×9 inch baking dish with avocado or coconut oil.
      2. In a small saucepan, warm the almond milk to a simmer. Careful not to boil. Remove from the heat and place the chai tea bags in the almond milk. Let steep for 5 minutes. When ready to use, remove the chai tea bags and discard them.
      3. Meanwhile, mix together the oats, Nourishing Lactation Protein Powder, ground flaxseeds, and salt. Add in the mashed banana, chai-spiced almond milk, and maple syrup. Let stand for about 5-10 minutes so the oats and flax have time to absorb some of the liquid.
      4. Pour the mixture into the baking dish and top chopped pecans and dates. Place in the oven for 40-50 minutes. The larger your baking dish the less time it will take for the oatmeal to set. It’s ready when the top starts to brown and the middle is set. You can test this by poking the center with a toothpick or knife. It will come out clean when it’s ready. Remove and let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
      5. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 4-5 days.
