Batman has Robin, Lucy has Ethel, and now, mamas have Majka. As new mothers, it’s common to feel “mom guilt,” especially when it comes to breastfeeding. If we’re low in the milk department, we constantly feel like we’re not adequate enough to provide for our babies. Our co-founders of Majka were all too familiar with this feeling and wanted to create something so mothers could forget the milk drama and focus solely on being the best mama.

Majka’s Lactation Booster is a nutritional powder that not only can give nursing mothers a safe and healthy boost in their milk supply but may also help prevent swollen breast tissue and clogged ducts, and improve the quality of the milk. The Lactation Booster contains all-natural and safe galactagogues like turmeric, shatavari, caraway, MCT oil, flaxseed, and milk thistle.

Don't need a boost in milk supply?

For postpartum women, this booster can help support lactation and postpartum life due to the galactogogues (ingredients that help increase milk supply), healthy fats and antioxidant properties. The ingredients in this blend have well researched antioxidant properties, which are known to reduce inflammation. key ingredients

Turmeric A golden-hued galactagogue, has been used to increase breast milk production in India for centuries. Turmeric contains antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties and strengthens the immune system. This herb can also provides a boost in dopamine to the brain acting as a natural antidepressant.

Shatavari  Often used to enhance the supply and quality of breast milk. In addition to restoring the female reproductive system, shatavari also fights respiratory and reproductive issues in both men and women. Shatavari also regulates and preps the body for fertility, making it a good supplement for women who want to maintain their milk production while trying to conceive. Shatavari is high in compounds that act as antioxidants. These are saponins and racemofuran. Saponins are compounds with antioxidant abilities. According to a 2004 study, a new antioxidant called racemofuran was identified within shatavari root.

Caraway similar in taste to anise or licorice. The seeds of the caraway plant are known to increase breast milk supply. When mother’s consume caraway it’s been shown to reduce colic in breastfed infants.Caraway is also thought to improve digestion. Many hormones in the digestive system are affected by oxytocin and prolactin.

MCT Oil Breast milk contains various amounts of MCTs. This fat composition and ratio of MTCs is based on the mother’s diet. Consuming coconut oil, which is rich in MCT oil, increases the amount of MCT in The MCTs, lauric acid and capric acid, have been shown to protect against infection from harmful viruses, bacteria, yeast and parasites, therefore supporting the baby’s immune system. Since a newborn baby’s immune system does not fully develop until he/she is six months old, his/her only protection against everyday viruses comes via the lauric acid present in the mother’s breast milk.

Flaxseed provides fiber which is essential for optimal digestion and keeping a balanced gut microbiome.Flaxseed oil contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is partially converted into the omega-3-fatty acids, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in the body. Flaxseed oil increases the ALA content of breast milk.

Milk Thistle With “milk” in the name, is it any wonder that milk thistle has been known to help boost milk supply? Milk Thistle helps support digestion and the detoxification process in the liver. It also supports the liver by helping with hormone metabolism, and can potentially help resolve hormonal imbalances. Acts as a galactagogue. The flavonolignans in milk thistle can have a phytoestrogenic effect on estrogen receptors and limit the suppression estrogen would normally have on milk production.
